How to Enroll
The application form should be submitted when you are planning your high school program for the following school year. All necessary information should be at Barry Tech by May 1 to ensure receiving a course assignment before the end of the school year and an invitation to participate in a summer orientation program. Barry Tech will consider applications received after May 1 and throughout the summer, as well as at the beginning of the school year. However, your first choice course may be unavailable because of class size limitations. If you change your mind about attending Barry Tech before school begins, you should immediately notify the Barry Tech Central Registration Office (396-2378). If you decide to change a course selection during the summer you must notify the Central Registration Office. If you need to modify career plans, arrangements can be made to meet with a Barry Tech counselor or school psychologist. ADMISSION AND PLACEMENT Every student application packet is thoroughly read by a committee composed of the Barry Tech Pupil Personnel Services staff. The process involves a comprehensive review of the student's school records including attendance, transcript, report cards, test scores, comments from school personnel, and a health record. The admissions process is a cooperative effort involving both the high school counselor and Barry Tech staff working together to provide students with appropriate course placement.
