Summer Internships a Big Success

Students from Barry Tech are out in full force gaining vaulable knowledge and true hands-on work experience. Philip Jackson, a junior from Mepham High School, from Barry Tech's Auto Tech Program, is working full-time as an Automotive Technician's Assistant at Hassel BMW in Freeport through the AYES (Automotive Youth Educational Systems) Program. Douglas Berger, a junior from Mepham High School, from Barry Tech's Auto Tech Program, is working full-time as an Automotive Technician's Assistant at Rallye BMW in Westbury through the AYES Program.
 
Joseph Travagliato,a junior from Seaford High School, Philip Woerner,a junior from Syosset High School, and Joseph Silvestri, a junior from Hicksville High School, all from Barry Tech's Auto Body Program, are working for the Committee for the Autoseum rebuilding a 1972 Grand Sport for charity at the Cradle of Aviation in Garden City.  Money earned from the raffle of this car goes to Breast Cancer research.
 
Randi O'Moore, Work Experience Teacher-Coordinator, supervises these students throughout their work experiences.
