Audio Production

Through hands-on training, students will learn the basics, including how to set up, operate, and maintain electrical and electronic equipment. Students will learn audio production techniques that are used throughout the industry, and will use microphones and audio mixing consoles, as well as digital and multi-tracking recorders. This course will provide experience in the areas of radio, television, commercial projects, and live musical recordings. The history of music and musical styles will also be explored.

• multi-crack audio recording
• electronic operation and composition
• audio-mixing consoles
• multi-tracking and editing systems
• music history

Course available: Grades 11 or 12
Course length: 1 year
Placement: Regular
Credits: Up to 4 CTE credits
Admissions criteria: Reading skills on grade level. Being creative.
