This course prepares students for the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) Exam 210, based on the Microsoft Systems Engineer Program and Windows 2007 Professional edition, using Microsoft’s IT Academy Program, Centers of Excellence, and the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) Academic Alliance. After completing this course, students will also have the opportunity to earn Network+ Certification.
 
Young technicians will learn to:
 
• configure and troubleshoot in the desktop environment
• implement, manage and troubleshoot hardware devices, drivers, network protocols, services, and security
• install and configure network operating systems, media types, and protocols
• monitor and optimize system performance and reliability
• set up and manage user accounts and groups
• set up, configure, and administer network printers
• construct several types of networks including wireless, bus, and star
• work with hubs, routers, ridges, and switches
 

Course Available: Grade 11
Course Length: 2 years
Placement: Regular
Credits: Up to 4 CTE credits a year
Admissions Criteria: Satisfactory completion of Computer Technology, strong visual acuity and above average academic skills
